Common System Failures & How DataComm Solves Them

Overheating of Devices

Many in-wall enclosures lack adequate airflow, causing power supplies, media hubs, and control boxes to overheat, leading to performance issues or premature device failure.
DataComm Connected Media Boxes are designed with intentional spacing and device mounting flexibility, allowing proper airflow around larger power devices and media components. This helps maintain safe operating temperatures and improves long-term reliability.

Insufficient Interior Space

Installers often discover that standard boxes are too small to accommodate large power devices (such as TV power hubs), forcing equipment to be stuffed into the wall cavity or mounted externally
DataComm offers purpose-built box dimensions designed specifically to house oversized power and media equipment, keeping everything protected, accessible, and fully concealed behind the display.

Poor Cable Management

Loose cables, sharp bends, and unsupported connections inside enclosures lead to signal degradation, intermittent failures, and damaged connectors over time.
With a built-in internal mounting and cable management system, DataComm enclosures allow cables and devices to be properly secured, reducing strain and maintaining clean signal paths.

Unsafe Service Access

Tightly packed or poorly designed enclosures make it difficult to service equipment, unplug devices, or perform upgrades, often requiring TV removal or wall damage
DataComm Connected Media Boxes are designed for organized layouts and easy access, allowing service providers and homeowners to safely manage equipment without invasive work.

Inflexibility During Installations

Many boxes are designed only for new construction, making retrofits difficult due to inconsistent stud spacing, wall depth variations, or finished surfaces.
Side mounting tabs and wall depth adjustability allow DataComm Connected Media Boxes to be installed cleanly in retrofit scenarios, accommodating real-world framing conditions

Added Cost from Accessories

Installers are often forced to purchase additional brackets, clips, or mounting kits to properly secure devices inside the enclosure, adding time and cost.
The integrated rear mounting system eliminates the need for extra accessories, reducing material costs and speeding up installation.

Visible Clutter Behind TVs

Homeowners frequently complain about visible power bricks, tangled cords, or wall plates that detract from the clean look of a mounted TV.
DataComm Connected Media Boxes provide a fully concealed, in-wall solution that hides power devices and cabling, delivering a clean, professional finish, especially important for design-focused installations.

Limited Future Expandability

Boxes designed only for current equipment leave no room for future devices, forcing costly wall modifications later.
Thoughtful interior space planning and multiple size options allow DataComm enclosures to support future upgrades without rework.

Inconsistent Install Quality

Different enclosures and accessories across units result in inconsistent installs, higher callback rates, and service confusion.
A standardized enclosure platform ensures consistent installation, easier training, and predictable results across multifamily and single-family projects.

Damage to Drywall

Improper mounting or overcrowded boxes often lead to cracked drywall, uneven finishes, or damaged walls during installation or service.
Secure mounting options and depth adjustability help ensure a flush, stable installation that protects finished surfaces.
